The idea of the Swimathon is to give organisations the opportunity to raise funds for themselves and to donate to Lions charities at the same time. All monies raised are split equally with the Lions Club covering the cost of organising the event. In our event in 2022 just over £5000 was raised. The team swimming the most lengths in half an hour were CYTA Taekwondo Club, based in Godstone. Once all the money had been collected several team representatives attended a Lions meeting in the White Hart Barn in Godstone to receive their share of the proceeds. Four groups; Bletchingley Skills Centre, 1^st Lagham Scout Group, Maia Morris ( a Scout raising money for a trip to the World Jamboree in 2023) and CYTA Taekwondo Club were all able to make it and receive their cheques from Lion President Chris Frith.
